Caravaca Market, slated to open spring 2017 in The Trace, this week filed plans with City of Atlanta.

Caravaca Market, a restaurant and market concept from Chef and TV personality Harry Pagancoss, has taken a major step toward meeting its expected spring 2017 grand opening.

The restaurant Wednesday filed a permit application with City of Atlanta to buildout its 5,981-square-foot space on the ground-level of The Trace, Midtown's latest multifamily project.

An estimated $840,656 could be spent altering the space, at 780 Peachtree Street NE, into the "urban market," bakery and cafe (Harry Bakes), wine shop, and craft beer bar, according to the official documents.

Caravaca Market was first announced late-2016 and could open late-May 2017, Pagancoss in an email told What Now Atlanta Wednesday.

"It is a beautiful project with a lot of good exciting opportunities," he said. "It is our focus and desire to be part of the community in the best possible way."

The Trace where Caravaca Market would be situated is a 12-story residential tower with 290 "upscale" apartment units, constructed by developer JLB Partners.

The Trace came online last last year.
